Morgan is a young female wild caught orca caught by a lie!
FREE ORCA MORGAN
Morgan is a young female wild caught orca, rescued by the Dolphinarium Harderwijk in June 2010 who gained a permit to rescue her on the condition she was released back to the ocean as soon as possible.
This did not happen. Morgan was put 'on show' to the public within 5 weeks of her 'rescue'. It is a well known fact that when rescuing wildlife, the only human contact of any kind should be to improve the health of the animal and to rehabilitate and release back to the wild. They absolutely should not be on show to the public.

There are too many questions that remain unanswered, just a few of those questions are:
1.Why were orca experts prevented from entering Dolphinarium Hardervijk much earlier to obtain DNA and vocal recordings of Morgan to find her pod (all pods have their own dialect), eventually being allowed in after the first court hearing a year later (August 2011).?
2.How did Sea World know about Morgan before orca experts had chance to work with her? Dolphin Hardervijk sold another wild caught orca, Gudrun to Sea World in 1987. (The sale of orca is now illegal and there is no evidence that Morgan was exchanged for money although there are reports that dolphins may be on their way to DH).
3.Why is the media 'still' reporting that 7 'experts' brought in by Dolphinarium Hardervijk said Morgan's release would be 'too risky' when 4 of those 7, on gaining new information on Morgans vocals/call signals, switched sides and supported her rehab and release?

It has been said that Morgan was sent to Loro Parque in November 2011 as this was 'in her best interest', this is not true. Morgan was sent to Loro Parque due to loopholes in laws. There was, and still is a solid, well organized rehab and release plan for Morgan by some of the worlds top orca experts. Her call signs have been matched to relatives and there is no reason why Morgan would not be accepted into this pod especially as she is a young female.
Please sign the petition and share.
If you wish to send donations to help Morgan please do this on the Free Morgan Foundation website. All funds are going to the contunuing legal fees. Thanks.

I just signed the petition on Change.org calling for the release of Morgan the Orca who is currently being held in captivity at Loro Parque.
As you may know, Morgan was rescued by the Dolphinarium Hardervijk in June 2010 who gained a permit to rescue her on the condition she was released back to the ocean as soon as possible.
This has not happened and there is no acceptable justification for keeping her in captivity in a zoo in Spain, caging a wild animal in a tight space.
Morgan is an Orca who was born in freedom and members of the Free Morgan Foundation have located relatives to which she could be returned. Continuing to keep Morgan in captivity could therefore be a breach of the European Protected Species Regulations.
For this reason I ask that Morgan is released urgently from Loro Parque in Tenerife (Canary Islands) and relocated to facilities in Sto, Norway so that the carefully drafted reintroduction and rehabilitation plan can be followed and Morgan can be returned to her natural habitat.
Thank you very much for your attention.
Sincerely,

A hidden camera worn by an undercover investigator
Shared from MFA Site:
Upon reviewing the undercover footage, Dr. Ian Duncan, professor emeritus at the University of Guelph, and holder of the oldest university chair in animal welfare in North America, stated: “It is the worst cruelty inflicted on an animal that I have witnessed in many years” and “[T]hese awful conditions are leading to terrible and unnecessary suffering for hundreds of animals.”
A groundbreaking Mercy For Animals Canada undercover investigation provides a shocking look into blatant animal abuse at one of the nation's largest pork producers—Puratone—in Arborg, Manitoba.
At this pork supplier for some of Canada's largest grocery chains, including Sobeys, Superstore/ Loblaws, Metro, and Walmart, pregnant pigs and their piglets are forced to suffer brutal abuse and lives of unrelenting confinement and misery.
In late 2012, an MFA Canada investigator documented:
- Thousands of pregnant pigs confined to filthy, metal gestation crates so small they were unable to even turn around or lie down comfortably for nearly their entire lives
- Pigs suffering from large, open wounds and pressure sores from rubbing against the bars of their tiny cages or lying on the hard concrete flooring
- Pregnant pigs—physically taxed from constant birthing—suffering from distended, inflamed, and bleeding prolapses
- Pigs too sick to stand being kicked, slapped, and pulled by their ears to force them to walk
- Pigs having metal bolts fired into their skulls, leaving many still conscious and blinking
- Workers slamming piglets into the ground and leaving them to slowly suffer and die
- Workers cutting out testicles and slicing off the tails of fully conscious piglets without the use of any painkillers.
Dr. Temple Grandin, the world's leading expert on farmed animal welfare, also admonished this pig factory farm, stating: "The farm is poorly managed and it is obvious that the employees have not been trained in proper procedures.” Dr. Grandin previously condemned the use of gestation crates by the pork industry, asserting: “[G]estation crates for pigs are a real problem. ... Basically, you're asking a sow to live in an airline seat. ... I think it's something that needs to be phased out.”
While many of the standard industry practices uncovered at this pig factory farm are needlessly cruel, subjecting animals to a lifetime of confinement in crates so small they are virtually immobilized is perhaps the worst form of institutionalized animal abuse in existence. A growing number of animal welfare experts opposes the use of gestation crates, concluding what common sense should have told us all along: animals with legs should have room to move.
Major food providers have also recognized the inherent cruelty of gestation crates. Costco, Safeway, McDonald’s, Tim Hortons, and over 30 other major retailers in Canada and the United States have started demanding that their suppliers do away with them.
Sadly, grocery giants Sobeys, Superstore/Loblaws, Metro, and Walmart condone confining animals in crates barely larger than their bodies by selling pork from producers who use gestation crates—including Puratone. These corporations have both the power and ethical responsibility to reject this abusive factory farming practice by immediately adopting policies that require suppliers to phase out their use of gestation crates.
As MFA Canada works to expose and end the exploitation of animals at the hands of the meat, egg, and dairy industries, consumers still hold the greatest power of all to prevent needless suffering of farmed animals by adopting a healthy and humane, vegetarian diet.

Cheap netting hurts it cuts and strangles bats, birds and other wildlife. Please sign and share. Thank youhttp://www.thepetitionsite.com/3/help-stop-bats-dying-in-oz/
Netting that is loosley drapped over a backyard fruit tree has to be the deadliest and the cruelest method of protecting ripening fruit. It is responsible for thousands of deaths of flying-foxes and other wildlife annually across Australia. Thrown loosly over a tree, it has the potential to cause horrific injuries including slow death. Loose netting traps animals so completely that is cuts off circulation, causes bruising, breaks bones and cuts into flesh resulting in ghastley wounds. Most bats caught are either pregnant or supporting dependant young. The terror of capture and the desperate struggle for freedom causes miscarriages and the deaths of innocent babies. If puppies and kittens were being trapped, no society would condone this preventable cruelty. So why do we tolerate this? Help us to have these products banned from sale by giant hardware stores and wholesalers. There are wildlife safe, affordable alternatives to drape netting that will guarantee 100% of your harvest.
